Thoracic Radiculopathy Treatment

When spinal nerve roots are compressed due to inflammation, mechanical disorders or injury, it can cause pain and dysfunction. Nerve roots in the thoracic spine can impact the mid back, torso and chest. Compression of these nerve roots is called thoracic radiculopathy. At Caliber Pain™, we offer advanced thoracic radiculopathy treatment at our facility in New York City.

Nerve impingement in the thoracic spine is less common than in the cervical or lumbar spine. The thoracic spine has less movement and is better supported than the lower spine or neck, resulting in fewer spine injuries or deterioration. When mid back nerve impingement or thoracic radiculopathy occurs, it can be caused by:

  • Spinal stenosis
  • Herniated discs
  • Vertebrae fractures
  • Bones spurs or spinal osteoarthritis

Thoracic radiculopathy occurs when the nerves are compressed at the root in the spine. This can result in pain, numbness, tingling and weakness in the associated areas. For nerves in the thoracic spine, impingement can cause symptoms that wrap around the chest and torso.

Relief for Thoracic Nerve Impingement

Diagnosing the cause of nerve impingement that causes thoracic radiculopathy is the first step to finding relief. Our spine and pain specialists can evaluate imaging to identify causes of nerve compression. Diagnostic discography or injection therapy may also be used to pinpoint the source of nerve impingement. We offer a multidisciplinary approach for the treatment of spinal conditions, providing long-term relief at our state-of-the-art medical facility in the Upper East Side, Manhattan.

If you are suffering from mid-back pain, or torso numbness or weakness, you may have thoracic radiculopathy, or nerve impingement. For diagnosis and treatment, contact our team at Caliber Pain™ today to schedule your evaluation with one of our pain specialists at our clinic in New York City. We offer advanced diagnostic options and innovative treatments for painful spinal conditions.
