Shoulder Joint Steroid Injection
Injuries and disorders impacting the shoulder joint can cause inflammation, mobility issues and pain. Rotator cuff tears, shoulder arthritis, bone spurs and other joint inflammatory conditions can restrict the movement and cause acute or chronic pain. Caliber Pain™ offers interventional treatments for joint pain relief. We provide shoulder joint steroid injections at our clinic in Midtown Manhattan for patients with chronic shoulder pain.
Shoulder injuries and degenerative conditions can result in joint inflammation. Sports injuries, trauma, impact accidents and joint degenerative disease can cause swelling and inflammation in the shoulder. When conservative treatments are ineffective at relieving inflammation or swelling, a steroid injection to the targeted area can help reduce inflammation, improve function and minimize joint pain. Our interventional pain specialists at Caliber Pain™ can perform targeted shoulder joint steroid injections at our cutting-edge medical facility.
Image-Guided Shoulder Injections
We utilize fluoroscopy or ultrasound-guided steroid injection methods to target inflammation in the shoulder joints. The injections include a small amount of local anesthesia to numb the joint and a corticosteroid to address inflammation. Imaging helps guide the needle to the pinpointed area in the shoulder joint. Immediate pain relief may be felt due to the local anesthetic, but these effects wear off in a few hours. The steroid may require a few days to reduce inflammation in the shoulder joint but can offer several weeks or more of pain relief.
If you suffer from limited shoulder motion or pain from joint inflammation, a steroid injection may be an option to offer pain relief. Our doctors at Caliber Pain™ may recommend a shoulder joint steroid injection as well as other interventional or regenerative medicine treatments to relieve shoulder pain.
